Safaris in the most magnificent safari park in Africa are Tanzania's Serengeti safaris with its vast herds, as must have roamed the continent before the disruptive arrival of man. Tarangire National Safari Park consists of open woodland, plains, swamps and rivers attracting plenty of wildlife including a diverse bird population.
Less than ten square miles in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a true Garden of Eden. Highland forest covers the 2OOOft sheer sides of the caldera, a spectacular barrier encircling the wildlife that roams the flat crater floor and where the central soda lake attracts birds and sometimes flocks of flamingo.
Selous is a vast untamed and remote wilderness area with one of the largest elephant concentrations in the world. Threaded by the mighty Rufiji River, the Selous Game Reserve is an undiscovered and untouched world.
Ruaha is second largest of Tanzania's great parks where more than 1600 species of plant and more than 400 species of bird life have been found. The main spectacle is the river itself which attracts a wide range of safari wildlife, while off the coast lies Zanzibar, an island whose very name evokes thoughts of romance, spice trails and exploration. Here white sand beaches and coral reefs beckon for a relaxing finale to any safari.
